Happy Monday! Dec 30

This morning started out with a little scare - I turned the corner to where Baby Girl's bed is and there's a warmer bed in it's place. While I was panicking about what could have happened to cause such a big step backward one of the nurses saw me and let me know that she got moved to a different space! WHEW!

We had a busy morning - the PT came by and worked with her stretching. Her arms are much more limber, and she's much more tolerant of the PT working with her. They also put soft casts on her wrists to hold them in an extended stretch for a few days. They'll take them off and replace them on Wednesday or Thursday and continue the process until she doesn't need them anymore! She did NOT like the casting process. She had been tolerant enough of the stretches and didn't want them messing with her anymore.

When we got there this morning they had also removed the IV overnight. The doctor said that while they couldn't get a clear enough view of her lungs to determine if there was any fluid or build up (because of all of the organ displacement) that her blood work had come back clear for infection so they felt comfortable in stopping the antibiotics.

During lunch they also removed the nasal canula to see how she does without oxygen. She seemed a little wheezy to C and I but the nurse said that was natural as she tries to readjust to breathing totally on her own. Hopefully when we get there tomorrow it will still be off.

Haven't done any work on her sucking and swallowing over the weekend because of the breathing issues, and the therapists didn't want to push her to much today but should work some more on that starting tomorrow.

Thanks for all of the prayers over the weekend. She's still doing better than the doctors expected and continuing to make baby steps of progress each day!

Mom sent me my hospital picture today and I couldn't help putting our pictures side by side... I still think she has C's mouth :)
