Two steps forward, One step back - Dec 28

Got a phone call from the doctor this morning - we didn't have a good night. Baby Girl was having trouble keeping her oxygen saturation up yesterday afternoon and that continued through the night.

She also had a reflux episode and they think she aspirated some of the milk. The doctor ordered an x-ray of her lungs and started her on a dose of antibiotics so that we're ahead of the game if it turns into pneumonia. They also extended the length of her feedings from 30 minutes to 90 so that her stomach has more time to absorb the milk. They'll monitor her closely over the weekend and figure out what else (if anything) needs to be done on Monday.

C's parents got to come by so she's now met all of her grandparents. We weren't able to get a picture of them with her because we had a cranky nurse who wouldn't let both of them be there at the same time. Some of the nurses are more lenient and let that rule slide for at least a few minutes.

When we came back from dinner with them she was wide awake!  Pretty sure it was because she had just been changed and was getting ready to eat, but I'll take any time I get with her eyes open :)

By the time we left for the day they had turned the oxygen down slightly but she was still having trouble breathing. They will probably not make any changes tomorrow - just waiting on Monday to find out what's going on and what the best course of action is.

Thanks for the continued prayers!
