11 Weeks - March 7

All righty, so here's the plan:

Step 1: get rid of the oxygen. She's already on the lowest setting for the low flow nasal cannula so the next step is taking it off again and seeing how she does. Might do 3 hours on / 3 off at first...who knows. Hopefully that'll be done over the weekend. She's done beautifully on 1/8L flow the last two days so she might have just needed a little extra time to fully recover this time.

Step 2: ENT evaluation of her airway. Dr. B gets back from vacation Monday so as soon as possible (Monday or Wednesday) Dr. G wants her to look again. Since she's really familiar with Baby Girl, her history and her airway she'll be able to evaluate it in comparison to how it's been and see if there are any changes. Based on her observations:

Step 3A: ENT says the surgery is not needed, we go home (with or without oxygen) and re-evaluate if needed later

Step 3B: ENT isn't sure or thinks the surgery will help: we repeat the sleep study, contact plastic surgery for consultation and move forward prepared for another 6-8 weeks of NICU life.

Step 4: we're home and get to start making appointments with long term specialist and therapist - pediatric orthopedic specialist for long term plan of leg / arm work; Speech / Occupational / Physical therapist for continued work; developmental center for monitoring growth and progress; and today's new addition: an audiologist. She failed her hearing screen in the left ear again :(

She will definitely be getting her shots on Monday - Dr. G feels comfortable enough with her oxygen level to move forward with those. Potentially next week we will also be doing her car seat test and scheduling an infant CPR training for me, C and any grandparents that are around and available and might be taking care of her :)

Dr. G will be gone for two weeks and as she was leaving she said we better be gone when she gets back. I agree.

She was happy and smiling most of today (her nap got interrupted for hearing screen this afternoon which upset her quite a bit!) This look here is her telling me "get that thing out of the way so I can watch my mobile"

Happy 11 weeks Baby Girl - let's surprise  big sisters and come home while they're gone for spring break...deal?

Wouldn't that be the BEST surprise! Count me in on that one! and the CPR training; been there, done that, but will do whatever necessary to be up to speed on my granddaughter's needs ... See Ya Next Week, Lexi Jo! <3
