Catching Up - March 24

So as things settle into more of a routine, my posts will not be coming as often (obviously) but I'll try to do at least a weekly update and after major medical appointments (which we have two this week and two the next week.)

We're working on our new normal - morning routine changed with Bigs slightly because we have to wait on Baby Girl's feed to stop before we can leave, but they've enjoyed the extra 15 minutes of sleep. We're working on a daily routine that makes me feel less like a record on repeat between each feed. Overall, things went well for the first week!

The home health nurse will come Monday, Wednesday, Friday to do a "well baby check" which they will then report back to our pediatrician for us. She weighs Baby Girl, takes her temperature, listens to her lungs and heart and addresses any concerns we have. They also have private nurses available that will come in for a 4-8 hour shift but I think for now we're going to stick with basic check up. If / when there are more intense nursing duties to be taken care of (after any more surgeries, etc) we might consider it but for now just want to get settled in and see where we are and what else we need. I also have enough down time during the day while she naps to get a few things around the house taken care of...or to take my own nap... while the Bigs are at school.

Wednesday and Thursday we'll be making trips back to San Antonio to see the Child Development Specialist and the Orthopedic Specialist. I'm glad she's much more comfortable in her car seat or I would be dreading those trips! I've heard nothing but good things about both of the specialists though so I'm anxious to hear what they have to say.

We've had quite a few visitors this last week to help us get through the transition - thank you to those of you who brought food (and Starbucks!!) or just came by to say hi! The Bigs have had fun showing her off to their friends from the neighborhood, although Little Big hasn't quite grasped the concept of what "playing quietly because she's sleeping" really means yet. The Bigs are learning to share time with her, and we're trying to make sure they don't get left behind in the transition. They've both been big helps and love watching her during bath time or just talking to her when she's awake.

Here are a few snapshots from the week:

Big Big chose my outfit; visiting with the K kiddos; snoozing away; First Sunday outfit!

Hanging out with Daddy

Happy and Smiling!

Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers!
