The ENT also mentioned to Dr. G that she doesn't think it's an airway issue as much as a reaction to something in the anesthesia. Her airway is fine when she's here in the NICU, it looked small but not overly so when they did the scope to look at everything, and her readings don't indicate that she has an issue breathing until they start trying to put her under. So that will be something to consider for any future surgeries - there's possibly something in the initial anesthesia that is causing her airway to swell some, making it difficult to intubate.
Now that that's all behind us, standard recovery time for the g-tube is about two weeks if everything goes well. That time will be spent making sure she's tolerating the tube, her body is accepting it and it's functioning. I'll be learning how to use it for feeding (and medicine as necessary), keeping it clean, etc. Once I'm comfortable, they're comfortable and she's ready - we'll be eligible for discharge! I know I'm getting ahead of things but I am SO ready to have her home... And so is Daddy and so are two big sisters!
Tonight they'll start testing the g-tube and her stomach by clamping it off for short periods of time to make sure her stomach doesn't become distended and that the tube is venting properly. Tomorrow they'll start feeding her through it and as they increase her feeds, decrease the IV fluids.

So so so thankful that all is well with your littlest Miss! We will be praying that all heals well and goes as it's supposed to with the g-tube. Hopefully she can be home with her sweet family where she belongs very very soon!
