3 weeks old - Jan 10

Early update today because I have to go in to work and take care of reports, paperwork, etc. Lots of fun stuff.

We got there this morning in time for me to work with her and the bottle at her 9:00 feeding. She took 11mL and her respiratory rate only spiked once! She also seemed to be self pacing herself and would slow down to catch her breath after every couple of sucks. The nurse said she did well overnight - she took more than 10mL each time but not quite the full 20 they've been putting in the bottle. The Speech Therapist is going to come back at 3:00 to work with her on that feeding.

The PT came by and did some stretching with her and said she thinks her feet are doing well enough that we can start looking at casting on her feet, the problem is that there is a monitor that has to either be put on her foot or on her wrist so we can't do both at the same time. She also suggested we start looking into Orthopedic doctors so we can go ahead and put together a long term plan.

Dr. G and Dr. M (the pulminologist) came by and visited with us again about the surgeries. C and I have decided to go ahead with the diaphragm plication. It will greatly relieve the pressure on her right lung which could help her with building up her endurance and eating ability. If that doesn't help we'll have to look at the g-tube and fundification later, which is not ideal because that would be two surgeries- but just doing the diaphragm part gives her a chance to keep fighting and impressing everyone. So we're waiting right now to get on the surgery schedule and move forward with that. Prayers would be greatly appreciated that the surgery goes well and that it helps her improve her eating!

The nurses found this in their "Bow Box" and it was on her head this morning...which reminds me that she has far cuter bows that she's been given that I need to start putting on her :)
