Has it really been 1 month? - Jan 20

We knew there would be issues when Lexi was born. Maybe even a longer stay in the hospital. Never in my wildest dreams did I think she would be turning 1 month old never having been home. Never did I imagine she would have had a major surgery and spent a week on a ventilator. Never did I think that this would be how I spent the first month of her life. But here we are.

They had her on her side this morning to help move around some of the fluids in her lungs - which has to be a relief after being flat on her back for a week straight! It's also a good sign because they were worried about having her on her side with the ventilator but she did well with it!

They took the large dressing off of her surgery incision and said that looks good and is healing well. They've been slowly weaning her off the pressure and oxygen of the ventilator and said she's handling it well and doesn't seem to be having any trouble with her lungs keeping up. There will be more tests and imaging in the next few days to make sure the surgery did what it was supposed to in relieving the pressure on her right lung.

We also got the official news: she'll be going to the OR at 8:00 am to get the ventilator tube out and check out all of her airway and vocal chords and throat stuff! Extra prayers at that time would be greatly appreciated!!

Happy one month Baby Girl!!!
